ICHIRO Bobblehead Night!

“I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle.  But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”     – Marilyn Monroe

Unfortunately I do not have a nice new shiny Ichiro bobble to pat on the head.  I felt like a bobblehead watching last night’s game on tv though!  In the second inning Felix loaded the bases twice… I think all that bubblegum he was chewing was distracting him… Shaking head changed to nodding head when we were able to turn it around.  Of course I’m going to be sad when we give up three runs- the difference is I watch the rest of the game.  We’ve both won and lost in the past when we were down by more than ten.  Stranger things have happened my friends…

Beltre rocked it out last night though.  It was awesome to watch his own excitement captured on the screen.  And 6 runs for 8 hits to the Angels 3 runs for 9 hits goes to show we were playing fundamental baseball.  It was fun.

I was a little sad we didn’t sweep the Angels, but the first two games with them at Safeco were so awesome that it definately makes up for it.  The cliche ‘you can’t win them all’ will hopefully this year become ‘you can’t win them all, but you can win more than the other guy…’.

Safeco is ten years old this year!  I moved to the Northwest in 1999.  I never went to the Kingdome.  One of the first things we did when we moved here was go to a Mariners game at the Safe.  So this year not only also marks my 10th anniversary in the most beautiful part of the world, but also the fact that I’ve grown up with Safeco.  It’s always felt like home to me, and it always will.

xoxo
